Easy Chia Berry Jam (No Added Sugar)

A simple, naturally sweet homemade jam made with real fruit and chia seeds. it is perfect for toast, yogurt bowls, or your sweet potato + nut butter combo.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh or frozen berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or mix
  • 1 –2 tbsp lemon juice adjust to taste
  • 1 –2 tbsp chia seeds
  • Optional: 1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey
  • Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Cook the berries
  1. Add berries to a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Stir occasionally as they soften (about 5–8 minutes).
Mash and simmer
  1. Use a fork or potato masher to break down the berries to your desired consistency.
  2. Let simmer for another 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Add thickener + flavor
  1. Remove from heat and stir in: lemon juice, chai seeds, and optional sweetener or vanilla
  2. Mix well and let sit for 5–10 minutes to thicken.
Cool and store
  1. Let cool completely, the jam will continue to thicken as it sets.
  2. Transfer to an airtight container and store up to 7 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer.
