Method
Cook the berries
- Add berries to a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Stir occasionally as they soften (about 5–8 minutes).
Mash and simmer
- Use a fork or potato masher to break down the berries to your desired consistency.
- Let simmer for another 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Add thickener + flavor
- Remove from heat and stir in: lemon juice, chai seeds, and optional sweetener or vanilla
- Mix well and let sit for 5–10 minutes to thicken.
Cool and store
- Let cool completely, the jam will continue to thicken as it sets.
- Transfer to an airtight container and store up to 7 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer.
