Method
- Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add onion and cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, broth, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
- Blend with an immersion blender until smooth (or carefully transfer to a blender).
- Stir in cream and honey, if using.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
